My brother is over from Australia, and we did a lovely overnighter from Pulborough to Arundel just this past Saturday gone over the bank holiday weekend. The flood is fast, but HW is delayed compared to the open sea. The first section of the paddle is not the prettiest section of the River Arun, with high banks and muddy waters, but becomes much more interesting as you approach the town of Arundel.
